Woodlands Heating and A/C really impressed me with their integrity and customer service.
I first gave the company a call in mid November to troubleshoot my tenant’s malfunctioning furnace and get a bid to get it fixed. They sent someone out right away, and after assessing the problem, the technician determined it was a faulty gas valve, and went ahead and replaced it. He didn’t get approval from me first (he tried calling me, but wasn’t able to get a hold of me, and didn’t want my tenants to go another night in the cold). It was a reasonable judgement call by the technician. However, when I found out he had replaced it without my approval, I was upset; I had another company coming by later that day to give me a second quote before I would approve their bid. When I explained this to Phil, the owner, he immediately apologized and told me he wasn’t going to charge me anything for the gas valve. I was very impressed by the understanding and customer service.
Due to this good experience, I gave Woodlands Heating and A/C another call a couple weeks later when a second tenant was having trouble with their furnace. They sent a technician out right away to assess the problem, and found that she didn’t know how to use the thermostat properly. The tech showed her how to use it and only charged me a trip charge. Another company might have taken advantage of the situation and found something else to gouge me on, but they were fair and honest, which to someone like me, who manages my properties from out of state, is priceless.
I definitely recommend them if you’re looking for someone to work on your heating and a/c.
