How Cool IS the Woodlands?

“We like to Keep it Cool in The Woodlands” is our mantra, but how cool IS the Woodlands?

The Woodlands, TX is a master planned community that was started by George Mitchell in 1974, and has quickly become home to some of the best shopping in the Houston area with Market Street and The Woodlands Mall. The Woodlands offers an upscale living experience to its population of more than 100,000 people. Just 28 miles north of Houston, the area covers about 24 square miles and is made up of 9 distinct villages: Alden Bridge, Cochran’s Crossing, College Park, Creekside Park, Grogan’s Mill, Indian Springs, Panther Creek, Sterling Ridge, and Town Center. Each of those villages contains amenities such as parks, hiking and bike trails, golf courses, their own shopping center, and more.

Large companies such as Chevron Phillips, ExxonMobile, Anadarko, and Woodforest National Bank have made their corporate homes in the Woodlands, creating great local job opportunities. While some still commute into Houston, more and more jobs are opening up in the area.

The Woodlands is certainly not lacking in it’s entertainment opportunities. With two movie theaters, 150+ restaurants, and more, there are activities happening year round. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion hosts musical artists from classical to rock in a great outdoor setting. The Woodlands Waterway is a half-mile long waterway that opened in 2004 and is a popular spot for runners and families alike. If shopping is more your speed, Market Street is a pedestrian shopping center with a variety of high-end shops and restaurants, as well as a movie theater. Every spring, The Woodlands hosts The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, which attracts over 200 artists.

It’s hard to beat The Woodlands when it comes to great lifestyle choices for you and your family. So how cool IS The Woodlands? We’d say it’s pretty cool!
